Retreat of Vajrayogini: the Sky Dance of Great Bliss
The practice of Vajrayogini, one of the most important of the Mahanuttara Yoga Tantra, the highest class of Tantra, is considered one of the most powerful of all Buddhist Tantric meditations. Buddha emanated Vajrayogini, a special female enlightened being, 2500 years ago. She is the female counterpart of Heruka, the Lord of the Heroes, and she teaches us how to attain enlightenment through purifying our female essence, our dakini nature. It is an excellent antidote against limitless attachment and greed and the realisations brought about by it’s practice can lead to Enlightenment in a single lifetime.
Instructions for the Vajrayogini retreat
To do the retreat you must have already received in the past the Vajrayogini empowerment.
Those who wish to participate in the full retreat, in the meditation hall (on the second floor of the Temple), must necessarily attend all three daily sessions for the duration of the retreat.
Lama Michel Rinpoche will make a personal Vajrayogini retreat in Albagnano during the same period. His practice will energetically support the retreat even if he will not be physically present.
The retreat will be conducted, in the traditional way, by Geshe Lobsang Puntsok: three daily sessions to be completed on the same meditation seat. In each session the sadhana will be recited together first and then the mantras individually. The retreat is only considered complete when each participant has recited 100,000 mantras.
Mobile phones are not allowed in the meditation hall.
Those who wish to participate only in some sessions and/or only for a few days can do so in the Tara Gompa following the sessions via live video transmission from the meditation hall. In this case, there is no obligation to complete the 100,000 mantras in the period.

Meditation and recitation ritual
The Guru Puja is a traditional meditation and recitation ritual of invocation and offerings to the spiritual guide, all the holy beings and all sentient beings. It is one of the most important practices of Tibetan Buddhism. In addition to being a comprehensive and excellent tool for spiritual development, its practise is an excellent method for pacifying negativities and incresing positive qualities and energies. The Guru Puja practice is performed daily in AHMC, and is dedicated to inner and world peace. During the tsog an offering prayer – ghanachakra – is recited 108 times. Lama Gangchen Rinpoche initiated this daily recitation dedicated for world peace right after the events in New York on the 11th of September 2001. Since then, the mantra has been recited over six million times. The Guru Puja a joyful celebration in which everyone can participate; a compendium of teachings of the Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions. Other than the dedication for world peace there are special dedications every day for those who request them and in particular for the particpants of the Generosity Garden. The text is available in the temple or can be purchased from the shop.

She is the female counterpart of Heruka, the Lord of the Heroes, and she teaches us how to attain enlightenment through purifying our female essence, our dakini nature. In the course of centuries many high lamas, yogis and accomplished Mahasiddhas have explained that the tantra of Vajrayogini is an excellent antidote against the damages brought about by an excess of avidity and greed. Furthermore they stated that with the increasing levels of the moral and energetic degeneration of the planet, the Vajrayogini Tantra would have also acquired an increasingly greater power and that the realisations brought about by it’s practice can lead to Enlightenment in a single lifetime. This practice is particularly indicated for those who are consumed by desire; it is very simple although it contains the essence of all the tantras. Practicing with sincerity, it can help resolve desperate situations and lead quickly to the Pureland of the Dakinis and to the Clear Light of Bliss.
The text “The Quick Path to Great Bliss, the uncommon sadhana of Venerable Naro Kachö Vajrayoginī” composed by Kyabje Pabongkha Dechen Nyingpo will be recited.

Changes in time and place may occur.

Yamantaka practice
The Yamantaka practice is based on the secret Mahamudra Ganden Nyengyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. The Yamantaka Tantra offers us a key to understanding and harmonising the energies of the body and mind with those of the world in which we live. Yamantaka – who is the wrathful manifestation of Manjuhsri, the Buddha of Wisdom – is the transformer of the violence that destroys our vital energy on external, internal and secret levels.
