The Work That Reconnects 

from 2.30pm to 7.00pm

Deep Ecology is a philosophy and a movement that clarifies the implications of our attitudes on Earth and frees us from behaviors based on outdated notions about our separation from Nature. The experiential work follows a spiral sequence flowing through four stages beginning with gratitude, then, honoring our pain for the world, seeing with fresh eyes, and finally, going forth. In the face of overwhelming social and ecological crises, this work helps people transform despair and apathy into constructive, collaborative action.
The Work That Reconnects was developed by Joanna Macy.  PH.D., AUTHOR & TEACHER, IS A SCHOLAR OF BUDDHISM, SYSTEMS THINKING AND DEEP ECOLOGY. A RESPECTED VOICE IN MOVEMENTS FOR PEACE, JUSTICE, AND ECOLOGY. Her wide-ranging work addresses psychological and spiritual issues of the nuclear age, the cultivation of ecological awareness, and the fruitful resonance between Buddhist thought and postmodern science. 
 
Fernanda Lenz is a Brazilian photographer and Deep Ecology facilitator. She has been studying tools for transition to a regenerative culture since 2016. She leads Deep Ecology and Boddhisattva Path retreats and experiences, where she combines the teachings of Joanna Macy, her knowledge of the cosmovisions of native peoples, and her strong connection to the Tibetan Buddhism lineage of her masters Lama Gangchen Rinpoche and Lama Michel Rinpoche.
