Francesco Prevosti
Francesco Prevosti, born in Varese on June 25, 1956, began to take an interest in Buddhism in 1970 by studying Zen philosophy and Japanese schools.From 1977, he collaborated in the founding of several Buddhist centers, including the Istituto Lama Tzong Khapa in Pomaia (PI), the Nalanda Monastery in Toulouse, France, and the Albagnano Healing Meditation Centre in Verbania, Italy. Since then, he has actively worked on the team translating sacred texts and designing the graphic layout of publications.He met and became a disciple of Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa, who were among the first Tibetan masters to come to the West.From 1979 to 1992, he upheld monastic vows, and afterward continued his activities in the Buddhist field. During these years, he received numerous teachings on Sutra and Tantra, as well as initiations from the most renowned lamas of the four schools of Tibetan Buddhism, such as H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, H.H. the 10th Panchen Lama, Trijang Dorje Chang, Kyabje Ling Rinpoche, Kyabje Song Rinpoche, H.H. Sakya Trizin, and many others...In 1985, he met Lama Gangchen Rinpoche, becoming his photographer and video operator, personal translator into Italian, and on several occasions into French and Portuguese.Over these 27 years, he has made multiple pilgrimages to India, Nepal, Indonesia, Tibet, China, Sikkim, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, Mongolia, and Cambodia, visiting the most sacred sites of Buddhism, and has completed many meditation retreats under the direct guidance of his teachers.For more than fifteen years, he has studied Indian sidereal astrology and Chinese-Tibetan astrology, relating it to Buddhist teachings.He has given lectures and courses on Buddhist practice and Lama Gangchen's Tantric Self-Healing NgalSo in Mongolia, Russia, Nepal, Brazil, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, France, Italy, and Switzerland, in Italian, English, Portuguese, and French.Currently, he teaches and leads meditations, retreats combined with the transmission of Tekchen Sojon of the 8 Mahayana precepts, study and discussion groups on Buddhism, Lam Rim, and NgalSo Self-Healing at the Kunpen Lama Gangchen Center and the Albagnano Healing Meditation Centre near Verbania, of which he is also president of the managing association. He participates in various interfaith encounter groups in the spirit of Lama Gangchen's work.
