NgalSo Tsering Jong Retreat Centre in Spain

FOR SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT AND DETOX FROM BUSY URBAN LIFE IN A PURE, NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

The project follows Lama Gangchen’s vision of a place where anyone can nurture spiritual development and detox from busy urban life in a pure, natural environment. Located in a protected mountain reserve in Souther Spain and within short distance from the NgalSo temple in Almeria, Tsering Jong means ‘place of long life’ and is open to everyone who wishes to practise the Dharma and experience full immersion in uncontaminated nature. When Lama Gangchen returned to Tsering Jong one last time in January 2020, He encouraged the development of this project for this and future generations.

With the blessings of our Lamas and Gurus we have made the commitment to improve access by undertaking road repair, replanting of trees and maintenance of existing ones, especially those planted by our Lama Gangchen Rinpoche on his last visit.

RINPOCHE’S WORDS

In 1990 Lama Gangchen was invited to visit and bless the property. Some years later, Rinpoche commented: “We are now in a Dharma Centre located in the city [Malaga], but I don’t forget that there is a land in the mountains, Tsering Jong, long life place, that I visited: a very pure environment, quiet, with its own pure water spring and a half-built house. We need to develop that place… whoever wishes can work there to rebuild it… because, although we mainly work in the city, we need to keep that project in our mind, until we’ll find the moment when, little by little, we’ll be able to develop it until it’ll become a reality”.

WHERE IS NGALSO TSERING JONG?

IThe Centre is located in Southern Spain, at 1200m above sea level, in the Sierra Nevada natural park – Alpujarra granadina: a biosphere reserve since 1986, a birds conservation protected area. More informations: https://ngalso.es/tsering/

WHO IS IT FOR

Anyone is very welcome to visit to relax in nature or concentrate in the Dharma practice, individually or in a group. We partner with the NgalSo temple Entorno de Paz in Almeria founded by Lama Gangchen. Entorno de Paz faces the Mediterranean Sea and benefits from a year-round warm weather, it is an ideal setting to meditate, surrounded by sun and the sea.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

NgalSo Tsering Jong is owned by Gangchen Jangchub Ling, NgalSo España, a buddhist community established by Lama Gangchen in 2017. It is legally registered and recognised by the Spanish government as religious entity and is a member of the Buddhist Union in Spain (UBE-FEBE). It groups all NgalSo practitioners in Spain. The 112.521m2 farm has its own water spring and includes a well-finished house of about 600 m2 with several kitchens, bathrooms, 9 bedrooms, library and meditation room. A reforestation activity is ongoing with autochthonous and fruit trees.
