Lama Michel Rinpoche
Public Lecture
On Friday evening, 13 February, from 7.30 to 9.30 pm, Lama Michel Rinpoche will give an inspiring lecture at the Mani Bhadra Wish-Fulfilling Meditation Centre in Dalfsen on the topic “Cultivating Mental Balance in an Era of Information Overload”. During the lecture, Lama Michel will share his reflections on the impact of the excessive amount of stimuli we are exposed to. What effect does this have on our (mental) health and how can we maintain balance? The lecture is suitable for anyone interested in the topic. Additionally, this evening offers an opportunity for family members, friends, acquaintances and those interested to get acquainted with Lama Michel Rinpoche in an accessible and informal way. The lecture will be held in English.
Workshop
On Saturday 14 February and Sunday 15 February, the annual workshop will take place, this year on the theme “NgalSo Self-Healing II – Commentary and Practice”. The NgalSo Self-Healing practice is a meditation and healing method developed in 1992 by Drubwang Gangchen Rinpoche, specifically designed for the needs of contemporary society. The method is rooted in ancient Tibetan Buddhist sutra and tantra practices, which Lama Gangchen studied intensively and practised for over fifty years. These original meditations require a considerable investment of time. Gangchen Rinpoche therefore developed an accessible yet profound method for modern Western society, while preserving the essence of the original meditations. NgalSo Self-Healing is inspired by the deepened insights of Gangchen Rinpoche, gained among other occasions during his stay at the Borobudur temple in Indonesia. In this time of rapid change, where stress, feelings of powerlessness, fear, uncertainty and a lack of self-confidence are increasingly prevalent, NgalSo Self-Healing offers practical tools to restore the balance between the body and the state of mind. The NgalSo meditation focuses on the transformation from illness and blocked energies in the body and mental state (Ngal) towards vitality, healing, health, inner harmony and awareness (So). By transforming disturbing and harmful emotions into beneficial qualities, optimal conditions are created for mental stability and a positive outlook on life. Lama Michel Rinpoche, heart son of Gangchen Rinpoche, will provide explanations on the NgalSo Self-Healing method during this two-day workshop and will practise it together with us. The workshop is open to everyone. No knowledge of Buddhism or NgalSo Self-Healing is required.
